A landscape built from memory rather than geography.

Desert Mountain Memory layers luminous turquoise and blue mountain forms against a quiet, atmospheric sky, with a band of fiery rust and earth below. Water, pigment, and gravity were allowed to move freely across the paper, creating ridges, fractures, soft edges, and unexpected passages of color that suggest a place without defining it.

The contrast between the cool, almost watery mountains and the intense desert ground gives the painting a slightly dreamlike quality — part mountain range, part remembered landscape. Fine linear marks drift through the sky like traces or fragments, while the heavier texture below anchors all that movement.

This is less a portrait of a particular place than the way a landscape can remain with us: altered by time, emotion, and memory until what we remember becomes its own place.
