Kelp Forest — 8x8

Kelp Forest

Deep blue-green forms drift, divide, and gather in Kelp Forest, suggesting an underwater landscape alive with movement. Layers of turquoise, green, and earthy warmth emerge through flowing pigment and organic texture, while flashes of white create the feeling of light filtering through submerged forms.

Though inspired by the movement and depth of a kelp forest, the forms remain intentionally ambiguous—water, stone, foliage, and shadow shifting depending on where the eye settles.

This original 8 × 8 inch watercolor is mounted by hand on a birch floater panel, creating a narrow natural-wood border around the painting. The birch is left natural and finished with wax, while the outside edge is hand-painted in antique gold. The painting itself is also finished with wax. The finished piece measures 9.5 × 9.5 inches overall and is ½ inch deep.

Please note: The second photo shows pieces from the Kelp collection together for scale and context. This listing is for  Kelp Forest 8x8 only.
