Memory Passing Through
Some places seem to hold more than their physical form. A stand of trees, a familiar trail, a glimpse of distant hills—each becomes a container for moments that linger long after they have passed.
Memory Passing Through explores that quiet exchange between landscape and remembrance. Layers of turquoise, gold, green, and earth tones drift through the trees like echoes moving through time. The forms are present but never fixed, allowing the scene to exist somewhere between observation and recollection. What remains is not a record of a specific place, but the feeling of one.
The open spaces between the trees create pathways for light and memory alike, inviting the viewer to move through the painting as they might move through their own remembered landscapes. Distant shapes emerge and recede, while the flowing watercolor suggests how experiences soften, overlap, and transform as they become part of us.
Like much of my work, this painting developed through an intuitive process of water, pigment, and chance. The resulting image feels both grounded and fleeting—a reminder that places may change, seasons may pass, and people may come and go, yet something of them continues to move through us.
